Credit Repair Companies

The Truth About Credit Repair Companies

There are numerous credit repair companies that are eager and willing to help you with your credit repair needs. Most credit repair companies will help you get the results you are looking for; however, there are those credit repair companies that do give the industry a bad name.

That's why, when you type credit repair companies, into a search engine, several anti- credit repair companies articles pop up. It is the few bad apples that ruin the whole bushel. No matter what the industry, there are always predators and parasites scheming up ways to take advantage of vulnerable and unsuspecting consumers. It's no different when it comes to credit repair companies; there are scumbags there too. But it's not fair, nor accurate, to label all credit repair companies as scams - as you will often find many "reputable" sources doing.

These "reputable" sources are so-called "experts" or consumer watchdogs (namely the FTC) who have no shortage of negative comments and beliefs about credit repair companies. They propagate their limited knowledge and biased opinions over the Internet, and significantly influence the media and government. If credit repair companies had the kind of money that these slated information sources do, they could also hire powerful lobbyists to represent their side of the story on a mass scale.

Consumer watchdogs. Now, it is the job of the FTC to advocate for and protect consumers. But, so much of their information is misinformation. They tend to make sweeping generalizations about credit repair companies alleging that they are all scamming, lying, fraudulent businesses that charge unwarranted fees for what consumers can do on their own. This is simply untrue and unfair.

Society's parents. Then are the people who feel it is their job to espouse their opinion, whether they have had a legitimate personal experience with who, or what, they are popping off about or not; as though it is their moral obligation to create awareness or 'educate the ignorant'.

Those with a personal agenda. Credit repair is a pain for creditors, debt collectors and especially the bureaus. It takes time to investigate claims and they don't make any profit by doing so. The bureaus are notorious for anti-credit repair propaganda. They lead you to believe that they support your credit repair efforts, but are quite uncooperative in the end. And they have nothing good to say about hiring third-party credit repair companies.

Sadly, it is human nature to criticize rather than compliment. Because self-promotion (negatively associated with boasting) is considered arrogant, people tend to tear down their opponents (or anyone who doesn't agree with them), rather than build themselves up. Sadly, most of us have been on both the giving and receiving end of this injurious tendency.

Just be careful what you read and believe, especially on the Internet, where there are countless self-promoting "experts". You can never be sure of the accuracy or intent of the source. Even here, with this article that defends credit repair companies, ask yourself is it accurate, fair and unbiased? That's up to you to decide.
